Common Questions
Who is eligible to apply for the O.N.I. Fellowship?
The fellowship is open to qualified orthopaedic surgeons who have completed their core surgical training and are committed to advancing their expertise in joint replacement surgery. Applicants should demonstrate a genuine interest in raising the standard of orthopaedic care in Nigeria.
How long does the fellowship run?
The programme runs for 12 months. During this time, fellows combine structured theoretical learning with intensive hands-on surgical training under the direct supervision of Dr. Julius Oni.
How many fellows are accepted each year?
Two surgeons are selected annually. This deliberate limit ensures every fellow receives focused, personal attention and a high volume of surgical exposure throughout the programme.
What will I be able to do at the end of the fellowship?
Fellows graduate with the skills and confidence to independently perform primary, complex, and revision joint replacement procedures. You will also leave with a strong professional foundation โ including research experience and ongoing mentorship from Dr. Oni.
